Project – Repair moisture stains on the wooden framed windows and doors in Mcminnville, Oregon
Size – Windows and doors of a 3,032 square ft residential home
Time – 22 hours to complete
Material Used – Jasco paint and stain remover, wood bleach, Sherwin Williams Wood Classics Oil Based Wiping Stain, Miniwax Satin Finish Water Based Oil Modified Polyurethane.
We were contracted to repair dark, unsightly moisture stains on the bottom of all the doors and windows throughout the house. The wood had been originally stained and lacquered 23 years ago. As time passed, dark water stains began to appear.
Since the surrounding wood was in good condition, we began by masking off all of the good wood around the problem area. We then applied the paint and stain remover. After we cleaned off the striper, we applied several applications of wood bleach and allowed it to thoroughly dry. We finished with two coats of clear Miniwax. The completed job looked like new.
