Case Study: Exterior Paint Job On a Dundee Home

In just four days, the Smith and Company Painting team prepped and painted a house exterior in Dundee, Oregon. The homeowners received a color upgrade and a curb appeal boost with a fresh coat of Sherwin Williams paint.

The first step to any professional paint job is proper prep. For this 2,150 square foot single family residence that prep started with pressure washing the exterior. Once the house’s siding was clean, the team scraped away any loose paint. This is an incredibly important step because leaving loose paint, or not properly preparing the surface prior to painting can result in an inferior paint job.

After the prep was completed, we set about painting the exterior siding. First we sprayed two coats of Sherwin Williams Super Paint Satin in Barnwood Brown onto the main body of the siding. The home had new James Hardie Plank siding. The substrates were in good condition when we started so the job went smoothly.

The house’s trim was mostly new as well. The Smith and Company Painting team brushed two fresh coats of Sherwin Williams Super Paint Satin in Extra White onto the trim.

Four days after we started, the house’s exterior paint job was finished. The homeowners were pleased with the outcome and we love the warmth Sherwin Williams’ Barnwood Brown gives to the home. Check out the before and after pictures below to see the changes for yourself.
